What is Autopilot?
Autopilot is Z2X's autonomous mode. When you turn it on for an idea, agents run your plan steps in the background — even when you're not using the app — and queue their output for your review.
The key difference
In normal (manual) mode:
- You go to a plan step
- You click Run agent
- You wait for the result
- You review and approve
In Autopilot mode:
- You enable Autopilot for an idea
- Agents work through your plan steps automatically, in sequence
- When you next open the app, everything they did is waiting in your approval queue
- You review and approve the whole session at once
You're still the decision-maker. Autopilot just removes the need to babysit each individual step.
What Autopilot will and won't do
Will do:
- Run plan steps that are Ready, in sequence
- Stop at decision gates and wait for your input
- Pause if credits run low (below a configurable threshold)
- Queue all output for your approval before anything becomes official
Won't do:
- Skip decision gates (they always require your review)
- Send emails or publish anything
- Run steps that have required inputs you haven't filled in
- Continue if a step produces very low confidence output (configurable threshold)
Who should use Autopilot
Autopilot works best if:
- You have a complete idea brief
- Your Z2X Path has at least 5 steps ready to run
- You're comfortable reviewing a batch of agent work rather than individual steps
If you're still refining your idea or brief, it's better to run steps manually so you can course-correct between each one.
The pulsing dot
When Autopilot is active for an idea, the Autopilots stat card on the Home screen shows a green pulsing dot. This is your visual signal that something is happening in the background.
