Managing your subscription

Once you're on a paid plan, you manage your subscription through the Stripe Customer Portal — a secure billing dashboard hosted by Stripe.

Opening the billing portal

  1. Go to app.z2xfounder.com/billing
  2. Click Manage billing →
  3. You'll be redirected to the Stripe Customer Portal

No password required — you're authenticated automatically via your Z2X session.

Alternatively, click your avatar at the bottom of the nav rail, which links to your billing dashboard.

What you can do in the portal

View invoices and payment history

All past invoices are listed with amounts, dates, and status. You can download each invoice as a PDF — useful for expense reports.

Update payment method

Add a new card or update an existing one. Your subscription continues uninterrupted as long as a valid payment method is on file.

Change plan

In the portal, you can switch between Builder and Pro. Stripe handles proration automatically.

Cancel your subscription

Choose to cancel. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period, then you revert to the Free plan.

  • All your ideas, plans, and agent output are preserved — you don't lose data
  • Autopilot and other paid features stop working
  • Your credit balance drops to 25 (the Free plan allowance)
  • You can reactivate any time

What happens if payment fails

If your monthly payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.):

  1. Stripe retries the payment over the next 3–7 days
  2. You receive an email notification asking you to update your payment method
  3. Your plan status changes to Payment failed (shown as a red chip on the billing page)
  4. A warning banner appears on the billing dashboard with a link to update payment

During this period, Z2X continues to work normally. If the payment isn't resolved within the retry window, your plan downgrades to Free.

To fix a failed payment: open the Stripe Customer Portal and update your payment method. Stripe will retry immediately.

Downgrading

If you're on Pro and want to drop to Builder:

  1. Open the Customer Portal
  2. Change plan to Builder

The change takes effect at the next billing date. You keep Pro features until then.

If you want to go back to Free, cancel your subscription. Same rules apply — active until end of period.

Reactivating after cancellation

If you cancelled and want to come back:

  1. Go to the Pricing page
  2. Click Upgrade
  3. You'll go through the standard Stripe Checkout flow

All your old data is still there. Nothing is deleted when you cancel.
